+ Over the timeskip Haruki has matured more – she not only strives to understand people more but also to accommodate to their needs. She is more aware of what people expect from her and is especially more eager to help others as much as she can.

+ While Haruki had always adored children, she had never previously wanted a child of her own. Now she yearns to be a mother one day and raise a child to know both the goods and evils of this world.

+ Since her mother’s death she has become more nurturing overall, trying to treat the people around her with the utmost care and respect.

Important Events during the Time-Skip (if any):

- Mother’s death; while Haruki’s mother withered away due to her illness she would teach Haruki the different skills she would need to help run the household. How to do laundry, cook, clean, dust, take care of the garden, keep everyone’s morale high and mentality healthy, as well as defusing any tense situations. During the six months that her mother fell victim to her illness, Haruki took it especially hard. Both her and her sister Hisako were incredibly close to their mother, much more so than their father, and while their mother withered their father was constantly berating Haruki. Don’t cry, finish your chores, when is dinner going to be done – be strong, you have to take care of your sister now. It was increasingly hard for her to understand where her father was coming from, but one night when her mother wasn’t feeling as bad, she explained.

            “Your father isn’t a bad man, I promise. He’s tough and doesn’t know how to show his emotions… And isn’t the most nurturing of fellows, haha. But, he cares. Maybe too much, in fact. Please don’t hate him for how he’s been. As hard as this is for you two girls, try to think about your father’s emotional state as well.”

Since that conversation with her mother Haruki took special care not to disrespect her father and to try to see things not only from his point of view, but from everyone else’s as well. If a comrade was excessively irritated, she tried to understand why. It was a sunny day, he had been working on a project for hours. Since it randomly started raining his project was ruined, that was why he was throwing things. The mother hasn’t been able to see her child in days but for a glance since she’d been working on restoring the village, it was understandable. Haruki tried to understand and empathize with the people around her.

On the day of her mother’s passing, Haruki wasn’t to be found. She had stayed up all night watching over her mother, her mother’s breath labored and face scrunched up in unbearable pain. Haruki read her mother’s favorite poems to her all throughout the night, not stopping even after her tears had stained the pages and made the ink run. She wiped her face dry that morning and went to the garden, carefully snipping a bouquet of azaleas; her mother’s favorite flower.

During the funeral Haruki stood at the very back, not letting her presence be known. There wasn’t a single sign that she had been at the funeral if it weren’t for the bouquet of azaleas placed on top of her mother’s resting place.

 

-Distancing between her sister, Hisako; with their mother gone, Haruki has been given full responsibility of managing the household. She cleaned, cooked, managed the garden and consulted with her father. Hisako was nearly never home, always out doing something, anything even. Haruki loved and cared for her sister and only wanted what was best for her, and she knew that the relationship between Hisako and their father wasn’t the best, so she didn’t say anything about her never being home. Although she was worried (what kind of sister wouldn’t be?) that she couldn’t join and protect her she had put her faith into Shinya to keep her sister safe. She didn’t like Shinya, and hardly trusted him, but she needed to see him as a good enough man to keep Hisako safe to keep her sanity in check.

Haruki always tries to make sure that her sister is well fed and taken care of, but seeing as how she doesn’t see her very much it’s hard to do. She just hoped that she could trust Shinya as much as Hisako did.

Personality:

Haruki is a pretty laid back person that tries to be respectful and understanding of everyone but will not hesitate to hand out some mean talking-to’s to people who deserve them. She tries to include everyone in group activities and bonding time, since she thinks that people work best when supported by their loved ones. Haruki tends to try to act as the big sister that people need – taking blame for things she didn’t do to cover someone who needed it, listening to problems and trying to help the best way she can, and also using her free time to help educate people on different topics. However, if you abuse her kindness or take more than you give she will not hesitate in halting all help. At least until your act cleans up. She also absolutely loves family dynamics and children, as well as spending time with the little ones and one day she hopes to be a proud mother. 

 

Additional information:

Haruki is asexual and demiromantic (not that she knows these specific terms) and although she wants children she absolutely refuses to have her own. She tries her best to look out for everyone, and even though she won’t admit it, small acts of kindness are what keep her going. She loves spending time with her younger sister Hisako and has a habit of spoiling Hisako with treats and extra love and attention.

As for the fighting between the main and branch clans, while Haruki believes that the dispute is pretty ridiculous and that everyone should be treated well, she also believes that the branch clan should be respectful of the main clan, because of her father raising her to have this mindset. However, she is no where near as old fashioned as her father and feels that the arguments between the clans should end in a peaceful way.
